Organic fonts are a style of typeface inspired by nature and organic shapes. Unlike regular serif or sans serif typefaces, organic fonts hold a more hand-drawn, calligraphic quality, creating a soft, more uneven aesthetic. Organic type is often characterized by curved lines, curling swashes, and decorative flourishes, giving them a more customized and fluid feel.
When designing with type, organic fonts are great for brand identity projects related to food, farming, plants, beauty and wellness logos, and personal branding. These types of fonts come with a natural, earthy quality. The thinner the weight, the more elegant in style. In thicker weights, bold fluidity will be its focus due to a starker change in contrast.
Organic type is rather feminine, often cursive and blobby, and best for logotype and display applications, such as headlines. Check out our selection of modern organic fonts above.
