What Makes a Typeface Work for Games

Game type carries a lot of weight at small sizes — a logo squeezed onto a store tile, a HUD label at 12px, a stream overlay read from across a room. The typefaces here have thick stems, open counters and wide letterforms, so they hold their shape when the render gets small or the compression gets rough.

Where These Get Used

Title screens, key art, esports team wordmarks, Twitch and YouTube channel branding, and merch. Several run to Black, which gives a game logo the heavy display setting it usually wants.

What Comes with Them

Every typeface here is drawn in-house, in nine weights with a variable font, licensed for commercial use.
